Fall 2006 - The Weir by Conor McPherson

In a small, rural pub somewhere in the remoter regions of Leitrim or Sligo, the arrival of a young Dublin woman touches the hearts of three lonely bachelors and one mildly opportunistic married man.

Rivalry for her attention and a desire to show off the area’s historical significance lead the men to tell a series of ghost stories. But, what begins as “a bit of old cod”, ends up having a cathartic effect on both the men and Valerie. Their rivalry dissolves as they reveal their own vulnerabilities and loneliness and the effect the isolation of the place has on them.

Valerie in turn, sensing that her loneliness is similar to theirs, draws comfort from them and, knowing now that she is not crazy, tells her own heart-rending story.

Spring 2007 - At the Black Pig's Dyke by Vincent Woods

At the Black Pig's Dyke is a story of murder, mystery, fairy tale and tragic love. The play is set on the border of Northern and Southern Ireland where family feuds are passed down through generations. The story is told using the pagan ritual of the mummers' play as a metaphor for Ireland at a time where people laughed at a wake and cried when a child was born.
